INCORRECT

"But bi = 2"
Yes, very good. Bi does mean two. That's how bisexuality was coined originally.
HOWEVER, that was in reference to biological sex because gender = sex at that time!
ADDITIONALLY, "oct" means 8 and "dec" means 10. October is not the 8th month and December is not the 10th month. Please look up "eptymological fallacy."

INCORRECT

Bisexuality is now defined in terms of gender.
Once gender studies identified that sex and gender are NOT the same, bisexuality was defined in reference to gender in 1990 in the bisexual manifesto.

CORRECT

You know at least the basics of bisexuality :)Also known as: attraction to multiple genders or attraction regardless of gender

Thank you for your honesty!

Bisexuality is a fluid, complex orientation. Bisexuality is different for every bisexual person! Generally, Bisexuality is defined as the attraction to any gender. Some bisexuals have preferences, while some do not. We are not 50% homosexual and 50% heterosexual. We are 100% bisexual!

What is bisexuality?

  • Bisexuality is a fluid, complex orientation.

  • Bisexuality is different for every bisexual person!

  • Bisexuality is the attraction to multiple genders.

  • Bisexuality is also known as being attracted regardless of gender.

History of the Term

  • Bisexuality began as a medical term for intersex.

  • Later, the term was reclaimed for sexual orientation. It was defined in terms of biological sex. At this time, biological sex was considered the same as gender, and there were two biological sexes established. Therefore, bisexuality began as being attracted regardless of sex.

  • In the 1990 Bisexual Manifesto, bisexuality was redefined in terms of gender because gender was established to be different than biological sex. Again, bisexuality is complex, fluid, and inclusive. Therefore, bisexuality still relates to attraction regardless of gender.

Other Identities

You may have heard of "mspec" identities such as pansexual, polysexual, and omnisexual. bisexual is and was meant to be synonymous with "multisexual."Bisexual identities are on a spectrum. Again, every bisexual has their own experiences and may find that a microlabel fits them best!

Some individuals may not be able to use microlabels to describe their bisexuality. For example, I am fluid with leans; at times I have a lean for women and other times I have no lean.
